Got some aluminum insulation and tape at Home Depot. Spent $30.
Pulled up carpet and removed tunnel. While I had tunnel off, lubed speedo cable, changed gear oil, replaced trans mounts, replaced bushing and spring on shift lever.
It was tedious but did it over a few weekends.
Inspected floor for rust, all good. Cut and fitted from below back deck to as far under dash as I coud. Used spray adhesive and moulded into place. Then used heavy duty spray adhesive to put carpet. Did a layer under tunnel too and glued and stapled in place. Filled all holes that let in heat from engine bay.
Big difference in sounder and no more heat on leg.
