As I investigate more about my recent difficulties with cold starts with Weber DGVs (different thread), I would like to ask if this glass domed fuel pump would be the original on the 75 TR6? It has been on the car for as long as I can remember.

No, that's not the kind that came on a TR6 of any year or on TR250 engine.

As that fuel pump has been used on Pete's TR6 for a long time, its fuel output seems to have been adequate even though it wasn't OE. Perhaps a PO had difficulty sourcing the correct pump when needed and that was the best that could be found. FWIW, only the earliest GT6s used that fuel pump. Later GT6s used the same fuel pump as the TR6.
Cheers!

I've been using the glass topped pump on my trick engine and it seems to be up to the job. Note that the rebuild kit and spring are the same as for the steel-topped unit commonly found on TR250/6 engines. Also, my first '250 I got in 1976 had this type on it, and I pre-emptively swapped it for a new steel-topped pump before moving to CA from OH.
Both types accommodate 5/16" OD tubing in both inlet and outlet ports. The latter normally gets 1/4" OD tubing with a different nut and ferrule than the inlet side.
So you can use either one; they're interchangeable. I like the glass top because it looks more vintage to my eye.

Pete, funny you should ask. It is the same fuel pump that is on my 74 TR6 and I have been looking for an original AC brand pump but have not found one. I wonder how the replacement pump Moss sells would work. No rebuild kit available for those though. But at 39 dollars they are relatively cheap to replace if something were to go wrong with it.
For now, I am going with the philosophy that if it's not broke don't fix it.
