“Salem”
Salem is still a mostly original car. The seats have been redone with black inserts in the tan trim. It has been banged around a little and has a few rocker dents. It has been repainted at least three times with three slightly different tints of green. Part of it was covered with a clear-coat that shrank and cracked.
The car runs very well for a desmogged Ca car. The last long road trip resulted in fuel mileage just over 40 MPG. He is not a daily driver but is driven now and then year around when weather allows. The top is never up so it is limited in inclement weather. I love the car; he is the big brother of 5 siblings that are in the shop.

IF not for the color, it would look pretty much like my '79 Spit! I redid the interior and carpet, but did not install the knee pads, as there is so little room for my big feet to reach the pedals already I, too, have the CA smog "crap", but have chosen not to remove it, at least for now, since I just got it running nicely!
