  • Car in plane hanger where it set for 25 years

This TR 4 was sold new in Austin in August of 1962. I am the third owner. The car sat in storage from 1991 until March of 2018 when I purchased the car. After six months of mechanical work the car was put back on the road. The amazing thing to me was that when the car was restarted after 25 years everything worked. All the gauges, all the lights and it had great oil pressure. A long list of mechanical work has been completed to make it a safe and road worthy car. New carpet installed, all the rubber replaced and other incidental work performed. The best thing is that it is a great survivor and is very original. In fact it was never converted to negative ground. The car has no rust other than slight surface rust on the frame rails. I was drawn to the car because of its originality. It is great to drive as is ( I took a 100 mile drive) a couple of weeks ago and it really needs nothing to enjoy it. Due to health issues I am forced to part with the car. CONTACT me at 512-695-9377

Yes, Took about 5 months of working off and on. Normally stuff of cleaning gas tanks and lines and carbs, new hoses, new brakes, rebuilding front and rear suspension, good tune up, new hoses, new radiator core etc. She is running great. Put new tires on and have been making some short trips. it has turned out to be a great car.

I rate this car good because it is so original. A nice find but perhaps a little pricey now. Good luck with the sale I will be looking forward to seeing the car and hope that it stays in Austin.(I am an expat Brit living in Round Rock
