I'm 67 years young and have restored two Spitfires so far. My first was a 1971 that I gave to my daughter on her 16th birthday and we finished the "79" this past year. My new project is a 1972 that I'm retrofitting with a 1985 RX7 rotary. So far it's been a frame off challenge and I have everything just about ready to reinstall the body. I have gotten several useful tidbits of information from this site and I figured it's about time for me to join in.

1972 Spitfire/rotary Retro

A few years back my wife and I bought a ragged-out, rusty, 1972 Spit. We started the conversion to a Mazda rotary out of a 1985 RX7 after we got the nerve to tackle the job. After several years of delays, both health and equipment, the "ZOOMSPIT" was completed in 2020. We had lots of fun and a ton of work just getting everything to marry up.
