Boot Panels

Just needs to be bent like this

Gas tank cover from brushed aluminum, new carpet, and side panels Had good success with engine panels in brushed aluminum decided to do the gas tank panel in similar form. Ended up taking about 3 weeks because 36" aluminum is harder to bend than you think. Bent the panel to fit with home made bending brake, then backed with masonite to prevent metal on metal and sending unit shorting. Made side panels from 1/4 ply and remainder of boot carpet

Engine Splash Screens

Driver s side screen

Made engine splash screens from 18g brushed aluminum with edge trim. Passenger side has aluminum angle iron reinforcement which was drilled and tapped to hold the fuel vent line.

Soft Top Installed

Finished top

Installed Robbins soft top. Once the process is understood the rest is easy. Seeing into the process takes time. Tip 1 - center the rear mount in the rear window. This makes alignment easy. Tip 2 - the rear mount floats - do not take for granted that it is centered. The first two snaps are critical. get them right, and everything else goes where it should Tip 3 - DO NOT USE HH-66. Its great, but it will eat Rustoleum - and that is my go to for little parts. Use Weldwood. 2 of the...
