where can I find the fuse box for a 1962 TR3 and does it take the standard glass fuses that you can buy at a auto parts store ?

It's on the passenger side firewall next to the battery and under the voltage regulator. There are only two fuses. One is for the horns, and the other is for the green wired circuits. You '62 may also have an inline fuse for the tail lights probably located behind the center facia in the dash. Yes, you can use the glass fuses from the auto parts store, but the original British fuse rating was different then the US fuse rating. The British rating is approximately twice what a US fuse would be rated at. In other words, an original 30 amp fuse would need a 15 amp US fuse. I believe the original fuses were 35 amp, so just use an AGC 20 amp. The early horn circuits used a 50 amp, so use AGC 25 amp. I don't remember the rating of the under the dash fuse.

On the later cars (like yours), the fuse block had a rubber cover. Look for a rubber thing about 3" square with a bunch of wires on both sides. I believe the cover pulls straight up to access the fuses.

The horn fuse on later cars was also 35 amps in the Lucas rating system. The in-line fuse under the dash is listed as 25 amps (again Lucas).

The Lucas fuses were slightly different dimensions than the AGC fuses from your parts store, so there may be something to be said for using reproduction Lucas fuses (available from the usual suspects, Moss, TRF, et al). But like Art suggested, I use AGC 20 in the fuse block. IMO 25 was larger than necessary for the tail & dash lights, so I had an AGC 10 in there. (Actually, my current TR3 doesn't have the in-line fuse yet, but I do plan to add it and I used AGC 10 on my previous TR3A.)
