  • Disassembly is underway.

  • Body is off

  • More disassembly needed

  • Bare chassis blasted to bare metal

  • First test drive! HaHa!

  • Engine and gearbox completely rebuilt and installed

I have had this in storage since it was purchased in 1982. At the time, a novice restoration had been started and the car was partially disassembled. I am looking forward to FINALLY getting this car back to showroom condition.

I'm not sure about the VIN. My commission plate is missing. The number I listed is stamped on the differential, but it seems too high for a 1956 TR3.

After further investigation I'm settling on an earlier commission number of TS16619 based upon the engine number and body number, which would now make this a 1957 model.

Thanks, Richard. I'm just a few months into it, but it has been a lot of fun so far. This forum has already proved to be an invaluable source of advice and information.

Hi Mike, I just bumped into your site. My 57 TR 3 is TS 16454 L. Have to look up details but think it came from Mass also. Mine was in one piece, best I can say for it, but exactly as seller described. Body is off, frame re-done now looks like new. Will start putting rear suspension on next week. Put a buck in a piggy bank for every hour you work on it. When you are finished you will be rich! Great hobby tho. Paul (Trusty)
