  • Heres a picture from when I lost the garage and had to stick the Triumph in the Driveway. Awaiting warmer winds for further restoration!

  • ALWAYS something to do on a Triumph

  • First drive after some minor carburetor repair

My first classic! A 1973 Spitfire 1500, It was built in December of 72, so it was one of the first 1500's ever made! I am essentially the second owner of this car, well really the third, but I'll explain. The first owner, Alberto Florez, drove the car until 1988, he barn'd it for 30 years or so, then sold the car to a guy he met who he knew was passionate about cars named Alex who Is the person I purchased the car from. He did a little tinkering, but his real passion was japanese cars, this would have been his first british car, but he had to pass it along as he had too many cars and was getting static from his wife. Regardless I'm really happy about the purchase, and can't wait for this car to kick my butt, have me scratching my head, and learning a lot all along the way.

This car should be on the road by the spring/summer It runs and drives relativily well right now. As it sits, it needs tires, a leaf spring, an alternator, and a brake master cylinder. Then some welding of rusted out floor pans, tons of cleaning, and lots of odds and ends too including a new top and carpets. I hope to get a roll bar for it before too long too!

I wanna keep as much of the silly 70's flare that there is in this car, ya can't miss the hood stripe the original owner somewhat crudely painted on. To give it character and keep it as "far out" as it was for Alberto in the 70's and 80's I want to paint the wheels to match the stripe, and give it custom carpeting cut from an oriental rug.

He didn't say anything about the original paint! It wears the same paint as it did the day it left the factory! +1 bonnet stripe!
