TR-7 rear diff.

Will a diff. RKC1983 From a TR-7 4 speed work on 68 Gt6, want to change the gear ratio to 3.63 , going to run 15” tires.
Also looking for these diff.

The internals from the diff on a 4 speed TR7 are mostly interchangeable with the diff internals on the Spit 1500. RKC1983 is the late diff carrier (from around 1977 on on both Spit & TR7), it uses stronger planet & sun gears in its centre, and uses UKC4805 carrier bearings. Both 3.89:1 and 3.63:1 crownwheel & pinion sets can be used with that diff carrier, but the 3.27:1 CWP set needs a special carrier, RKC2802.

Just to avoid confusion among others, you must install the internals into the GT6 case since the TR7 case does not have the mounting lugs for the front mount.

A clever (or desperate) person could drill&tap the 4 holes into the nose, but it's a safer move to swap the bits
