The twin DCOEs are about the best carburetion there is, provided they are calibrated correctly.
Another option is to swap to a mk1 type rocker cover with a breather in the cap, and combine with a block breather to a catch can as described.

The first picture is the early rocker cover, the second is the catch can arrangement on the Canstel. It is a Ford engine, but the principle is clear.
