Getting ready to post a set of 5 Spitfire wheels in the Buy&Sell section, but I want to be sure I include all the correct info and verify that they are all the same.

What markings should I be looking for? I've seen 4.5x13 and 5x13 sizes listed in other ads.

Some of the wheels will have the size stamped into the rim somewhere. Not sure all of them did but I have seen a few with the stamps. Those look original so they should be 4.5, 5 or 5.5 x 13.

In your second pic, at almost the 9 o'clock position, you can see the size stamped in the wheel center just inside the ventilation holes. It looks like they are 4.5 inch wheels, though I wasn't able to see it clearly when I enlarged the photo on my computer. I think it says "4.5 x 12 x 88". The "88" indicates the offset of the wheel, and I think the stock 4.5" wheels had a 22 mm offset.

Thanks Dan and Joe. In that link, it says the "88" refers to 0.88" offset (22mm). I'll check all 5 rims to make sure they're the same.

HI,
Instead of the markings shown above some Spitfire wheels have the width and diameter stamped on the rim in line with the attachment of the center in larger characters. For example I have one marked RSM 42 4 1/2 J x13 R. The only marking on that wheel that would show when a tire is mounted is LP875 stamped a little closer to the hub than the marking shown above.
All the best,
Paul

Haven't seen one like that, Paul. Do you have any photos you could post?

Joe,
Just tried to get a pic or two. Typical, camera battery is too low. The one I have is a late Mk3 Spitfire or early GT6 wheel. It doesn't have ventilation holes, just slots where the center joins the rim.
All the best,
Paul

Here's a few pics. All are 4.5x13x88. I sandblasted one before I got a different set of wheels.
