I finally found some 1995 Miata seats at the local junkyard for $17 each. They are fabric but in very good shape and color. I can use them in my TR4A as is. Trying to figure out installation. Options:

Use Miata brackets and drill new holes in floor.

Modify Miata brackets to fit existing holes.

Make bracket to adapt to existing holes.

Purchase (if still available) bracket to adapt to existing holes.

I think I am am leaning toward modifying the Miata brackets. Here are 4 sites I found with instructions. I f anyone out there in Triumphlandia has the time to look at them and give me opinions as to what route you would go, I would appreciate it. Some of these are for different models. Does that matter? Thanks. Raleigh.

Raleigh, if the seats have the stock Miata rails, you can get mounting brackets that fit the stock TR mounting holes here:

I used them on my Miata seat installation and they worked great.

Oh, I forgot to mention these mounts only work on seats from 93-98 Miatas.

My seats are from a 1995 so no problem there. A little pricey but when you think of the work and what can go wrong with modifications, maybe worth it. It also looks like they would not raise the seat height much at all. Thanks. Raleigh.

Raleigh,
If you decide to recover them I hear good things about Mr Mikes...no personal experience, but the pictures look good.

I bought a TR4 with Miata seats and wound up reworking the mounts- my opinion but take a look at doing it yourself first, I didn’t think it was that hard to just use some steel plate to use both existing floorboard holes and make attachment points for the seat tracks

It has been a while since I installed mine but if you have a welder you can do it in a few hours. I am 6'3 and need all the headroom I can get so the ones that use the old mounts were not an option. I cut everything off so that the rails would sit right on the floor and welded tabs to the rails one at a time making sure I did not bind them. I also removed the seat bottom upholstery and beat the bottom of the seat pan flat and shaved about 3/4" of foam out giving me even more room as well as lateral support.
