Floppy Visors
This topic is about my 1966 Triumph TR4A

My original white visors were falling apart, so I wanted to replace them and found out that they aren't available except from Skinner. I decided to try TR6 visors. Their hardware doesn't fit a TR4A, so I used the existing hardware, which worked pretty well, except that the visors wouldn't stay in place. I tried squeezing the steel tube with smooth jaw channellocks, but that didn't work. I came up with using 1/4" bore shaft collars, with a longer bolt that I bent to provide a handle. I made the bend to put the "handle" at just the right angle when tightened. I clipped off the bolt heads and put on plastic thread protectors. I hope these pix show it clearly enough.

you could have just bent the rods slightly and then insert in the tube
