I have the 205/50/15 on my car. No problems at all.

Ron,

What width and offset are your wheels?

The wheels are 15"x6". I don't know the offset. I purchased them form The Wedge shop, they have them on there web site.

These are the wheels which came with the car.

Originally fitted to an MG Montego 2.0 Efi in the late 80s.

5.5J 15" I ran them on 195/50

Surplus to requirements now, up for sale £150. They could do with blasting and powder coating after 30 years!

Run a 205/50/15 and your speedo will stay correct. The 185/70/13, the 205/60/13, and the 205/50/15 are all the same overall height and circumference, so the speedo runs the same with any of the those sized tires. Get into bigger tires and you have to mess with speedo gears. I'm a big fan of 225/45/16 on the back and 205/50/16 on the front, but those are taller tires and the speedo is off about 8%. The TR8 with the LS3 is probably getting even bigger tires. Not exactly sure on the size yet, but they will be at least 255/17 in the rear and 225/17 in the front. Plan on using a digital dash anyway with a GPS speedo. Not even going to try and use a Triumph cluster with a Chevy engine/transmission, and a Ford rear end.

I just ordered a set of 15x7 panasport knock offs from the wedge shop. There web site says 205x50 x15 tires work without rubbing.

Thats great, but you could have gotten them sooner, cheaper, and had free shipping if you bought them from 18racing in Cali.

Good choice, Woody is great to work with. I am happy with that set up on my TR 8.

It is worth letting people know that Panasport now seems to (finally) have 15" versions of the traditional "Minilite" 8-spoke wheels to fit the Wedge cars. The Roadster Factory in PA is now listing them. Previously Panasport was selling a 14" version for many years (I have them on my 79 Coupe).
