I want to replace the front valance on my 1971 TR6. Do I need to remove the front fenders first ?

I believe so as the front wing headlight bits will be in the way. I'm pretty sure the bottom 5 bolts screw from the engine bay side thru the valance into the outer wing

Cheers

Yes. The fenders need to come off. There are a ton of spot welds you won't be able to access with the fenders on.

It isn't too bad a job. Just make sure to trial fit your front fenders back on before final welding to make sure you have the valance properly positioned.

Yep....the valance is 100% spot-welded on.

Just an FYI...you will need to remove the headlight buckets to access a hidden bracket on each front wing.

I have a valance off right now....could post some pics if you'd like to see how it attaches.

I know it's an old post, but since it's already there........
Add one more that needs to replace the front valance. Met a guardrail last year that I didn't like.
My valance appears to be welded to the inner panel all the way around. What's the usual way of taking apart ? AIr chisel ?
I figure an HF wire feed welder will do the job reattaching.
Any tips would be appreciated.
