I have a 73 TR6 and had the motor apart for repairs. After putting it back together I am not sure the carb linkage is right. Anyone got some detailed pictures they could post? Thanks..Al

There's pictures in Haynes and in the Bentley in their "Fuel System" chapters...but here's a couple of photos in case you don't have either one.
The first is the pre 73. The next 2 are post 72 with the captive auxiliary return springs:

Al,
I have a 73 if you need reference. I’m just down the road near Maple Bay.
And yes, the actuating rod is supposed to be bent.

Away from my car at present. I can supply a Ratco linkage pic. If you are not concerned with maintaining originality, I would suggest switching to a Ratco linkage. It removes the ball and socket pivots; a major wear point in the stock linkage. It's best point, IMO, is to remove the play in the stock linkage for much more precise carb adjustment.

it would appear my problems have been solved with my latest round of adjustments. although i found the Ratco linkage idea interesting but expensive. if i have more issues i may look at it...Al
