76 TR6 - looking at the images in the various catalogs, it appears both the seat recline (chrome) and the seat release/lean forward mechanism (black) are on the same side of the seat (outside facing the door). On my car, the seat recline (chrome) is on the outside near the door and the seat release/lean forward mechanism (black) is on the inside (near transmission tunnel). is anyone else's set up the same?

I think the seats have been switched.
Perhaps the drivers seat was more worn than the passenger side?

Both the driver and passenger seats are set up the same way, a lever on each side. The recline (chrome) is on the outside of the seat facing the door. The release/lean forward lever is near the seatbelt latch/transmission tunnel.

Sounds like someone took them apart and reinstalled incorrectly (installed nlack handles on wrong seat). Both of the levers should be on the outside of the seat next to the door.
