I have still been focused on making the '73 as reliable and usable as possible. Had a shifter failure in the summer of 2016. That was repaired with new bits and works well. This year I have had the replacement chassis prepped to go under this car. It's a '78 frame that is straight. It's been media blasted, primed, and painted a navy gray. Easy to touch up and the cost was very low. I removed a good portion of the rear bumper extensions and a friend patched the small rust defect on the left rea...

A few years back- I got the notion to buy a Spitfire and use that for a project. I had just finished a 71 Karmann Ghia. Back in the '70's I had a 72 Spitfire with OD and 67 SU dual carbs. It served me thru college and then some. Finally sold it in 1982 at the birth of our first son. My wife could barely fit behind the wheel near the end of her pregnancy!
