I bought my 60 TR3, back in August of 1969, at the tender age of 19. It was my only means of transportation then and I loved every minute of driving it. After 2 Cold winters in Northern KY, scraping the inside and outside of the windshield, so you could see and having your knee caps burning from the heater, while the rest of you froze, I bought a 1964 Plymouth to drive through the winters. Got married in Sept of 1972 and put my LBC in my parents garage and it sat there until 1984 Took it out of storage and cleaned it up and drove it during 1986, then back into storage that Fall and it stayed in storage until 2003. I have tinkered with it off and on since then. Engine has been rebuild, body taken off the frame, total frame, suspension and running gear has been rebuilt. Floors, inner and outer rockers, wheel arch wings were cut out and new ones welded in.
I retired in Aug of 2011 and moved from Wisconsin to AZ and now am in the restoration mode to bring it back to its formal glory.

Trip To Yellowstone And Problems Found Upon Returning Home

I was 21 and my brother, Tony, was 19, when we painted my car in early June of 1971. We did a decent job and tried a paint scheme that we thought was "cool". This was our first experience with painting a car and it looked good from 20 ft. After painting the car, we felt really proud and as we were sitting around talking one evening, we concluded that evening, that we needed to take a trip somewhere. We each checked in at our jobs and they agreed to let each of us have a week off, so ...

My First Encounter With Triumphs At Age 19

Posted on: Wednesday December 21, 2016

My first car was a 1956 Oldsmobile 88, 2 door hard top, which I bought from an elderly women for $100, when I had just turned 18. Upon her Husband’s death, she told my dad and me that it had only been driven occasionally (and it was in beautiful shape). Being young and excited about having my own car, I drove it hard and fast and after having it for just a little over a year and a half, the transmission failed. I do not know if you can consider it luck or not, but just before the transmission ...
