Front Suspension

Here is a photo of the almost completed front suspension parts. It has since been assembled, including the final finishing of the unpainted replacement bolts shown in the photo.

Here is a picture of the completed gearbox. Well, almost completed. As you can see, the cap needs to be installed at the base of the shifter. Somehow I neglected to sandblast and paint it when I did the rest of the parts...

Brake Caliper Rebuild

Brake Caliper Before

I am continuing with the sandblasting of the chassis and should be completed soon. I took a break from the noise and grit to enjoy some music and concentrate on some assemblies. The front brakes required rebuilding so I split the calipers, disassembled everything, cleaned it, and refinished all the parts. I used a high-temperature caliper paint after sand-blasting and preparing all the parts. I took the time to cure the paint in the oven instead of allowing the heat of the calipers. ...

In the shop

So I got a wild hair and starting looking for a GT6 for a restoration project. I found a 1969 GT6+ in Bakersfield which is about three hours away from me. My girlfriend and I jumped in my truck with trailer in tow and headed to "The Bake" with the intention of loading up the car and heading back to Santa Barbara. That is exactly what happened...
