It has really gotten colder, it's 10 now and expected to go down to 7degF here this evening, ugh!
I was able to make progress right before Christmas on the Spitfire handbrake, the cable is routed, but I need to flip over the balance lever so it better aligns the system and moves it further from the driveshaft. The handle is in good shape, so I greased it and got it ready for assembly. I wanted to run brakelines, but ran out of tolerance to the cold and time.
Today on the MGB, I got the new heater temperature cable routed, hooked up and adjusted. Also, I have been trying to get the storage shelves organized at the new house and found the MGB soft top, so decided to see how bad it was. When I purchased the car, the previous owner said it wasn't that good. Turns out there are no rips or visible damage to it. There is another top that is in bad shape, so maybe that is the one he was talking about. The rear windows are slightly clouded, but I might be able to bring them back. I have to look for a product I read about previously. It is too cold to properly stretch out, I'm going to just let it relax in place for now.
Small steps toward getting them on the road.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas, I did !
Handbrake cable routed
Getting the handle in place.
The soft top is in pretty good shape, too cold to attempt to stretch it though.
The windows are a bit cloudy, but I hope I can fix that
