I bought this 75 TR6 five or 6 years ago, it was parked outdoors in the State of Maryland, Silver Spring for at least 8 years. The car has only 49k miles, racing cam, headers, motor, trans differential great.

Once the car was moved to North Carolina and I started looking at it closer, it was clear the rust damage was significant, left floor, both rockers, chassis, trail arm areas all throughout the body panels and lower rear deck.

It was a matter of junking the car, finding another body or undertaking the rust repair task on my own to save the car. This is five years later, April 2014 and the car is just finally becoming structurally sound once again. I chose the most difficult of the choices, save the car.

It has been a learning experience of many summers and hundreds of hours of work. Here are some pictures of progress over the years since 2008.

The car will be a decent driver but it will never be a pristine example due to the extensive rust damage and repairs. After so many hours of work I have got to finish the project and I am finally getting there.

After a very long tong time of more than 5 years the TR^ is starting to look like a complete car, rust had taken a toll on the car after sitting outdoors for at least 7 years.

Rescued!

Even though winters are not too bad in North Carolina, it sure was too cold to work on the TR6. Spring is finally here and moved the car to a 10x30 storage facility where I can work on the car.

I am now concentrating on the mechanical aspect of the project considering the body work and rust repairs are pretty much done.

This project started in 2007 0r 2008, Seven or eight years later here we are still going at it.

Installing motor mounts, manifold gasket, water pump and rebuilding carbs, new radiator. Next it will be the brakes system.

Paying attention to the engine compartment before starting to re-assembele the the manifold and headers.

This is not a professional restoration more of a clean up re-furbish re-use what is good replace what is bad. The engine compartment cleanup was not an easy job. I have been working on this since April and it is finally looking promising.

After more than a month sanding, degreasing and doing body work it is starting to payoff the last day of May.

Today I finished the engine compartment,installed the starter, cleaned and started the header and manifold installation. I put 6 hours on the project today.
