Hi Guys,
Speedometer not working. Think I need to replace cable. Rimmer and other supplier show a one piece cable from speedometer to trans. Does anybody know what the little white box (photo attached) is that is attached to wheel well in the middle of the cable? Short cable from speedometer to it and longer cable from it to trans.
Hope to identify it and order correct cables.
As always appreciate any help,
GarryB

That's a service counter. On an FI car, it indicates when you need to replace the O2 sensors. Not sure what it indicates on a carb car. Rimmer may not list/carry the cables since I don't think it was used on Euro-spec cars. A PO had already replaced mine with a single cable, there is already a hole in the transmission tunnel that lets you route the single cable.

I replaced my 2 piece cable and service counter with the single cable. No problem. They could have made it about 2 inches longer though to make it an easier install

Speedograph Richfield. They have a website. You have a two piece system loke mine. They made me a brand new bottom cable for 11 pounds. About $20.00 us. They made a lot of Smiths components.
