Here is another part that is no longer available or listed. The fiber heat shield that goes on the gas tank. The left side broke as I was taking the tank down. I was able to make a new one from metal. I think it is made from asbestos. The picture is one from the right side. Although they are the same size the bolt holes do not line up.

And you wonder why companies go out of business, when they make two parts when one part used twice would work?

I cracked one of mine while cleaning the tank. Gave it some JB Weld....will it hold up? Who knows. While cleaning up a seat frame yesterday for paint I noticed every damn part that makes up the frame has a part number stamped into it. I think I discovered the real reason Leyland went bankrupt.

Also have to wonder what bean counter decided not to put the drain plug in the the tank. It was clearly designed for one.
