I'm about to install the upper steering column (the part that extends from the firewall to the rubber spider) on a '72 TR6. I've got two parts that I can't for the life of me remember where they go. They're two tubular pieces, one about three inches long, the second about three-quarters of an inch long. I know they go on the upper steering column because they came off there. I can't find any reference to them in any parts book I've got (Moss, Rimmer, Moss Europe, TRF, official shop manual). Can someone tell me (a) what are they're for and (b) in what order are they placed on steering column. Are they intended to cover up the slot machined in the upper steering column that allows the collapsible steering wheel to work?

Thanks,

Ken
