On ebay is a set of completely rebuilt carbs, air filters and air filter housing that came off a 1971 TR6, so it will work on my 1971. Any thoughts on what they are worth in the marketplace? I may go for them. TIA

Good idea, "rebuilt" like the term "fully restored" has different meanings to different people. It could mean everything from taking them down to each part, as I'm sure Ken does, to spraying off the dirt with carb cleaner and topping up the dashpots. - Pete

I don't think those are 71 carbs. But let's let Poolboy give the official verdict.

Those will work on your 71 and any other year, but those carbs are the 75 and 76 versions of the carbs. The main difference is that the post 72 carbs were modified to handle the Anti Run-on Valve feature.
My appraisal is based on this:
Currently I charge 270 dollars to rebuild a pair, but up until a couple of months ago it was 250. During that period of time if I got a decent deal on a pair that I could resell AFTER I rebuilt them, I'd likely ask less than 400..could be between 350 and 380.
Not knowing who (not me) and to what extent the rebuild on those carbs and if you had no intention of reselling them, I think 250 would be an OK for a pig in a poke type deal.

Wow, what a great resource for info. I really appreciate the quick, and obviously knowledgeable, information. Since they are from a later year, I'll pass and rebuild mine if/when needed. Thx again!
