Hello All,

I' am in the process of buying a hardtop for the Triumph TR 4 A, which I recently bought.

Who can tell who is the manufacturerof this top and where to find the right rubbers as they need replacement.

Harry

Parrish & Smoothline are the names I have heard of. Here is a parts page:

https://www.smoothline.com/convertible-replacement-parts

Note - I do not know if that is what you have there, just saying this was probably the most widely used source.

Have you considered a surrey top from "Honeybourne" UK.

There is a photo of that top in my 1971 Vilem B. Hann catalog on page 82. They call it a "Hann Custom Hard Top", but it was more than likely made by someone else, maybe Parish Plastics. The standard HT is listed as model # HS 70T and priced at $195.50. The Landau version was #HL 70T with a list price of $210.50. Hope this info helps.

Yes Harry it is....Do not expect a perfect product though..Some areas of their construction are problematical. So be prepared to do some modifications and preparation.
Having said that, would I buy another one..yes.
Surrey style of hardtop is the best looking and factory matching.
IMHO one piece hardtops do not look good on these cars.

Hi Malcolm,
Did you consider the Micro Plas Surrey when you were shopping for your hard top? Wondering how Micro Plas and Honeybourne compare. I'm not even sure the Micros are still being made. Just curious.

I did have a Microplas Surrey top, but the back light had some scratches, and replacements were not available, so I decided on the Honeybourne.
Microplas tops are no longer being made. Difficult to find a really good secondhand one.

Any rubber seal retailer will have them if you show a sample. For the rear window seal for which you need the exact replacement you'll need to bring the glass along for trial.
