Bringing a TR3 back from a 30 year slumber; almost done.

Steering is VERY stiff. I traced it down to the steering idler arm (RH side equivalent to the steering arm) connected to the drag link.

It moves, but with difficulty. I would like to open this up end clean it. Can it be disassembled? Any advice?

Regards,

Bob t

Got it.

It's a trunnion; the arm unscrews from the housing. It was really dry. Looked like the grease wasn't making it into the threads. Wire wheel and crocus cloth on the threads, greased it up good inside with my pinky, and it works like buttah.

so are you saying it's a TRUNION ( the thing at the bottom of the spindle) or the IDLER (the thing the tie rods attach to?
