My dad had Alzheimers for 10 years before it killed him. He would say that over and over like it was the first time he had ever said it and smile with anticipation to see if anybody thought it was funny. When everybody would laugh, he thought it was the greatest joke ever and was so pleased. The blessing of alzheimers is that he had no idea that we were laughing because he had just said it 5 minutes before and we knew it was coming.
