Hi guys,

Is the rear number plate lights shown in this picture factory original?

I was on the understanding that all Mk4 & 1500 had the badge light assembly fitted?

Thanks

Yes, factory original - the type with the Triumph badge was fitted to all the UK Mk4 Spitfires and the UK 1500s up to FH116000, which was probably around 1978/79. US cars used large light fittings at the sides of the number plate.

Phil, I think they are the same as the TR4A licence light that was on the upright on the bumper.
Much nicer than what we got over here.

Paddocks sell these that are very similar but the chrome piece is wrong.

Hi Phil,

For those bumper mounted number plate lights your looking for try info@europaspares.com they are in Staffordshire, UK. I have an oldish catalogue of theirs and on page 20 there is a snap in number plate light item # V433 and is shown as 5.70 pounds each. These do not require surface mounted screws to retain to the rear bumper.

Regards,
Paul
