Hey Everyone...
Got a 71 Spitfire with a 4-speed. Yesterday it I couldn't get it into reverse. I know I need a shift kit. But was able to drive the thing to work. I get to work and I go to leave at lunch and I don't have 1st gear 2nd gear or anything. Pulled the Shroud and all that I took the cover off and to look inside and I'm not really sure what it's supposed to look like looking down into the hole. I see where the little shift lever little thing on the ball goes into the tranny and the gearbox. And it's a three rail should get the three little detent things. And I believe it's the reverse on the right hand side when you're looking down there? The clutch feels fine. But it won't go in gear it won't move at all. Help

You took the cover off of the transmission and are looking down into the gears / oil ?

Need clarification on "can't get it into gear." Will it go into any or all gears when the engine is not running? Or does the problem occur only when the engine is running (that is, when you try and shift into first or reverse, or other gears, is there a clashing of gears that prevents the shift?)?

if you can take some pictures of what your looking at, that would help in narrowing down what you are seeing and what everyone else is seeing in their heads

Put it in 4th and bump it no clutch to see if it catches.

I have a single rail so I'm not much help.

I know 4th is 1:1 so the hope is to link input and output.
