Came across a deal on another 71 so I’m gonna sell mine. It’s a very decent car. I’ve listed stuff I’ve done to it since it 20 year sleep. It does run and I have driven it around the block but I discovered a leaking PDWA. Bought seals, but it’s cold out there
I’ve rebushed everything in urethane, new ball joints, tie rod ends, new silicon hoses, a recored radiator, new brake master, braided lines, new clutch hydraulics, & got it running. I have to swap the left trailing arm & install new u-joints on that side. Oh and I’m installing new larger wheel cylinders in back for better stopping power. Both calipers are new.
As far as the body is concerned. The car was ex California. Most of is very solid. The car hit a deer bending the bonnet, front valance, bumper, and left front wing. The bonnet was sorta straightened and filled. The left wing was replaced. The bumper & valance wasn’t touched. To date, I’ve hammered the valance out as best I could & replaced the bumper. I have a perfect bonnet to replace the one that’s on the car. I also have an original valance that’s rust free & straight. Those 2 things will need to be painted. The rear valance has a rust hole in the lower section just beneath the bumper. Lastly the driver floor has small holes in it due to the brake hydraulics letting go. The frame is completely solid no rust through anywhere. The diff mount (passenger side front) has been repaired as well.
So most of the hard stuff has been done. Will it need more work...yes. It’ll need a convertible top
I have a Factory Hardtop that I will sell for an additional 900 rust free but will need a couple stainless trim pieces, headliner, and attachment hardware
