Hello,

I've spent the last few days coding an automatic VIN decoder for the registry. All entries that have a recognized VIN format will now have a "Magic VIN Decoder" box in the Vehicle Information section of the car's page. Check it out!

https://www.triumphexp.com/registry/
(or click Registry -> My Vehicles in the menu bar above)

If you spot any errors or omissions, please reply to this topic or click "Contact Support" at the bottom of any page to open a ticket.
Please double-check your VIN before reporting any errors!
You can edit the VIN of your vehicles by clicking the green "Edit Vehicle" button on your car's page.

I've done the best I can with the information and time available, but there are probably many small things to fix...

I used the following sources of information:

Spitfire http://www.triumphspitfire.nl/identification.html
GT6 http://triumphspitfire.com/History.html
TR6 https://mossmotors.com/tr6-vin
TR7/8 http://trdrivers.com/tr7___tr8_vin_numbers.htm
TR3 https://vintagetriumphregister.org/tr3/
TR2 https://vintagetriumphregister.org/tr2/
TR4 https://vintagetriumphregister.org/tr4/
TR4A https://www.triumphexp.com/phorum/read.php?7,1407732

Thanks,
Skye

Skye, what sorts of information / verification do you need to add models to your decoder? I can help with Herald, Vitesse (Sports 6), Triumph 10 and possibly some older cars as well. Feel free to PM me!

Currently I only have information about engine codes for Herald (GA/GB/GE?) & Vitesse (HB/HC?) so please send any additional VIN/commission number data as most people don't enter the engine code into the registry

I don't have a lot of info about TR2 model years (if model years were a thing back then) or the TR3A to TR3B car #s & model years

I *think* my information is fairly complete for Spitfires (I just corrected the 1979 model year car #s), TR4, TR6, GT6, TR7/8 (most of them - so many VIN variations...)

If you want double check and see what info I'm extracting from various VINs, just click Registry -> Random Vehicle in the menu and have a look at the VIN box, then reload to get a new car. (The VIN decoder box will be empty if it's not a readable VIN)

https://www.triumphexp.com/registry/RANDOM

If it's difficult to post your resources in the forum, just email them directly to me at autoshrine@gmail.com as attachments

Thanks
Skye
