“Blue Lighting”
I just bought this in April 2016 as a rolling restoration. Needs replacing: Top, tires, front bumper, carpet, dashboard, and much of the wiring. Has no muffler so it's louder than my yellow Spitfire!

Notice that the hood (bonnet) has an unusual design stripe with the Triumph laurel wreath logo. I have not seen that anywhere else.

I replaced the seat belts and the fuel pump to electric. I removed the bumper sticker, but both bumpers are in sad shape and replacements don't seem to be available. Then I did chrome bumper conversion on the rear and will do the front later. I have the old bumper and hardware.

Some time ago, the seats were replaced with older 1960's Spitfire or other seats, so it needs the 1500 seats with the upper head rest part.

UPDATE: I've decided to sell in order to focus on restoration of my yellow Spitfire which I have owned since I was 16. Willing to sell this blue Spitfire to a buyer with more free time and work space.

More Recent repairs:
1. Tested electric fan, it works on the battery but does not start up when car is running and gets hot. So thermostat may be bad.
2. Rebuilt rear brakes. Wheel cylinders were seized. Replaced cylinders, springs, clips, pins, and shoes.
3. Replaced electric fuel pump back to manual. Installed a new manual fuel pump.

your bumpers are messed up too. The front rubber bumper is from a 1980 Spit, the rear bumper is from a pre-1973 Spitfire. That's why they call many of these cars SPITS-Bits, because so many people mix and match.

If you read my description then you would see that I, not somebody else, I replaced the rear bumper with a older Spitfire's chrome bumper because the original bumpers are in bad shape AND that I plan on replacing the original front bumper also when I can. Several rubber bumper Spitfires (79 and 80) have had chrome bumper conversion and there is an article on this site about that. The '73 bumper I used is one that I had available from a parts car. Now if you know where I can get new rubber bumpers, then please share that info as well because I looked for them first. BTW, Weber DGV carbs, which both my Spitfires have, are not original either. :-)
