Had the car since 1979. Mostly stored with parents while serving for 20 years in the Army. Always wanted to "convert" it, and now have. Of note, I almost wish I'd done it to a different car since according to one of the books here as reference shows it to be a very late model TR4, probably one of the last 245 or so here in the states. Everything is stock except engine, transmission, wiring and cooling system. Looks stock on outside and mean on the inside. Its still a blast to drive with or without the conversion!

Thanks Jay. When I got started with the project 4 years ago, I bought a "donor" F100 rust bucket and pulled the 302 and C4 tranny. The engine, as it turns out is a Mexican block out of a fleet 71 LTD and the tranny is a non-4WD short tail for the 4X2 truck. Built the 302 40 over with hugger headers, Holley 600, Edelbrock RPM alum intake and a Thumper cam (smallest they have). Lift is less than .500, so I could stay with the original valve train. The 302 dyno'd out on a program dyno at 305HP. Not too shabby and the rear should hold up. I also extended the original drive shaft 3 inches. I also did very little cutting on the firewall, so I could put everything back original if need be. I'll get a couple more pics soon. Thanks again!

It's going to be cool to see under the hood. Allot of custom fit I bet. Did you also change out the rear axle? Thanks for the post and future pics. Jay
