It seals the door check strap at the A post.

In reply to # 1511744 by skyking1231 Where does this seal go....or how does it go?

http://www.spitbits.com/store/16-DOOR-CHECK-SEAL-MK41500-2req-P4122.aspx

It forms a watertight gasket around the small square opening in the aft face of the A pillar where the check strap passes through. The door closes against it and presses it tight. The two little clips grip the sides of the hole, but the seal also has holes made for using small sheet metal screws, if you prefer.

ok....what threw me off was the two holes....so they are optional...or perhaps from another application/car ?

since i have nothing else to work on, on my car (i guess that is a good thing)....i am going to tackle my door locks...which i think are not hooked up.....and other door hardware that may be missing....

Optional? Well I guess you could say that...the car will run without those seals! winking smiley

ha....

i meant the holes...

as bare and basic as a spit is...lots of things optional..... top, heater, door locks (stick shift is the anti-theft device), and so on....
