Hello All,

I've got my 67 Spitfire carb rebuild kit ready for install - but would REALLY love a visual instruction for this, as this is my first carb rebuild.

Are there any videos/picture walk-through resources out there?

Thanks so much!

Matt

I did a video on replacing the throttle shafts, though your kit probably didn't come with these. If your throttle shafts "wiggle" at all, I'd recommend doing it, however. Sorry that I don't have a better video for the whole thing.
I'm at work so I can link you the YouTube video, but if you look for HS2 Throttle Shaft Replacement, or something similar, you should find it.

Again, probably not all of what you are looking for, but maybe a good idea depending on your carb's condition.

Thanks,
Chris

Matt, Videos aren't always available for everything you'll need to do on your car. A good manual is the first "tool" one should acquire after purchasing a car. While I have several, my go to source is my Robert Bentley manual. Not cheap, but will pay for itself many times over. smileys with beer

Matt,
When searching for You Tube videos on carb rebuilding keep your eye out for ones by Joe Curto. Joe Is a long-time SU carb expert and explains in depth some things about the SU that are important to know.
The John Twist University Motors videos are also landmarks of the British car world.
All the best,
Paul

One thing that I would like to note is the main jet tube (flexy tube with a spring around) that goes into the float bowl has a little rubber seal on the end. When you take them apart make sure the seal doesn't get stuck in the float bowl opening.

I think Moss Motors sells a DVD that shows SU carb rebuild process. Used to be sold on VHS, a guy in the local Brit car club still uses it!
