Hey Guys,

The drivers seat recline mechanism is broke. It's the disc part that is welded onto the shaft that release the tension so it can recline. Broke at the weld and the piece is gone.

Is this a fixable thing or do I look for a complete frame.

Tried to look on Rimmer Brothers website but with 3 different browsers I got the same message.... unsafe do not enter.

Any other places for seat parts?

Thanks
Bart

Maybe you can point out the part you need, but I think it isn't going to be here.
Good luck,
Paul

Yeah, perhaps a picture from the other seat so show what is missing. I doubt there is anywhere you will be able to purchase individual pieces for the seats. It is hard enough to find the right frames as a whole piece.
If it is the toothed piece that the latch grabs, you may have to make your own or model one from the other side and have a shop cut one for you. I built one for the 2nd 69 and thought I had photos of it but they must be in the lost box somewhere.
(I had no issues with the Rimmers web site either - my software usually is very alert)

Yeah, I kind of figured I would be getting one fabricated but thought I would inquire to be sure.

Luckily the other seat is in perfect condition.

Thanks

I have a pair of seat frames out of my 71 that might be the same. I will check tomorrow and see what it looks like. Putting in different seats in mine.

That certainly is a fair price.
When you say shipping is a killer... how lethal do you suppose it is?

I look forward to seeing the pic.

Thanks

Piling on here, I also have a set of seats for sale. Check the Buy, Sell & Trade forum. Pics are posted there.

Best reasonable offer. Seats work as expected and fully recline!

Hey Howard,

I have noticed that most of the time when I send a PM to someone it doesn't get there.

So, I will respond in the forum.

I'm really only in need of the drivers side frame since my upholstery is new.

But may be interested in yours if the price was right.

Let me know what your were thinking?

Thanks
Bart

use the MESSAGE option on this site, they will get it. It may take a day or so before they realize the MESSAGE letters are highlighted when they sign in though. Sometimes I miss it one or twice.
