I finally managed to work out a deal with an old friend who raced through the 70s 80s with his Triumphs. He is getting up there in the years and decided he needed to clean out. I have a Spitfire currently that needed some help and now I have three more to add and enough parts to start a Triumph Dealer parts room. He bought out a Triumph dealer in 1980 and I have boatloads of NOS in the boxes. Bit overwhelming trying to sort through it all. A few interesting finds off the bat were brand new cylinder heads still sealed in small wooden crates from England. A brand new Overdrive type D still in a wooden crate with all the switches and even that rare knob. A long block strapped to a pallet that looks new minus the 30 years of sitting around. Probably the best score is the 76 Spitfire with 6 miles on it. It was stolen from the above mentioned dealer then recovered minus an engine. Its been sitting in the barn since 78. Wicked Clean!! Well I ended up with 5 engines and about twelve transmissions some overdrives in the deal plus two other 76 doner cars. I will be posting pics of the clean out and share the story of the find!! Some of the cool stuff was about 20 wire wheels and some are set up for racing and are bright yellow. Also a set of four alum racing rims with the old school Hoosiers attached. About ten sets of dual Carbs some with labels as to how they were set up. I'm picking his brain as much as I can as far as his racing set ups back in the day!!

Way cool! Congrats and please keep the forum posted. I am sure many here would like to help you mitigate your investment by buying what you do not want.

One overdrive kit. Pretty complete. The paperwork is from 1978. It's been in the barn since

Wow! Take you time on this one, you have a few things there that are likely one of a kind, that Spitfire has to be a time capsule even without the engine. Pictures please!

Some more bits...you can see a cylinder head crate and I have both sections of header back exhaust system still wrapped. Think it's an ANSA muffler set up. Well done sorting today

I have one of those Ansa exhausts on my GT6.... Love the sound.

That is an unbelievable score (depending on price paid)

Looks like :santa: came early this year!
