Previous owner install new True Spark distributor that was not hooked up. I hooked up red wire to positive and black wire to negative on the coil. There are white wires near the distributor that I assume (based on the wiring diagram) went from the distributor to the ignition switch? Does the ignition switch now have to be hooked up to the positive side of the coil along with the yellow/white wire from the solenoid?

Thanks
Geoff

Sounds like you aren't intending to run a dual volt system with a 6v coil.

Easy hookup. Check the wire feeding the white with a yellow stripe. If it is pink with a white tracer, that is your ballast wire. Ditch both. You will not need to hook to the solenoid if you are running a 12v system. Power the red wires off a tap from a white wire off the harness. The white wires of the harness are 12v key-on / non-fused. Run a white wire to the coil. Tap the sender by tapping the red wire to the dizzy and a black wire to the - side of the coil. The - side of the coil will also have a white wire with a grey tracer going to the tachometer.
