May as well spend the time detailing the engine bay while the engine's out. So very much easier.

My buddy convinced me to pull the motor and clean and paint the engine bay of the TR2 before I painted the outside. He was a no show the day of the cleaning and painting, but two years later and I'm still super happy with the results.

I need to rebuild mine -- compression is 90 120 80 130 last time I checked. Last time i fired it up there was a significant amount of blow by - enough to force oil out of the breather cap.... oil pressure is still good at 50.

My TR3s

More on my garage, if you're interested.

My New Year's resolution is to get these projects back on track.

Happy New Year!

The board has been quiet lately so I thought I'd post some pictures from my drive in the canyon today behind Irvine/Orange in Orange County, CA. Thanks to a lot of help/advice/tips/tuning from Randall and others on this board, my car is back on the road and running strong. Appreciate all the help, advice, and moral support you guys have provided!

A warm but overcast day in Mississippi today. A perfect day for a ride along rural country roads.

You can thank him for the scratches in the paint later . . .

Nice color blue. What is it?

I asked the paint shop to go for a TR4 colour - Monaco Blue? - and this was their approximation! It's actually darker than it appears in the photo, and works well with the grey interior/soft-top/tonneau.

Bobby .. I don't think you're asking about my steering wheel .. you can only see one top corner of it behind the cat. But just in case, it's a Moto-Lita, bought from the factory in England in the mid 1980's. Hope this helps!

yes, I seen in the picture of your dash and steering wheel, the wood one with aluminum spokes and triumph insignia.

Almost done. EXCEPT

Something not right with the steering box - half-turn play in the steering wheel. Back on jack stands it goes....
