I have an extra W58 for sale.

W58 pictures

I purchased this from a salvage yard and changed the front and rear seal as well as the back half gasket. I know that it shifts from gear to gear after I lined up the shifting dogs.

Looking for $500 for it plus shipping.

Shipping should be around $150 to most anywhere in the US from Central Louisiana maybe more if to a residence.

Thanks

Thanks,

Mike

Hey Mike, I'm seriously looking for a tr6 and I'm giving up trying to find the right one with overdrive and will put one in myself. I've seen discussion of the Toyota w56 fitting and I thought I'd buy one when I buy my tr6. I have one or two I'm going to decide on. Can yoou tell me what the difference is between the w56 and the w58? How close is either one to just bolting in?
chucky713@aol.com or text/call 832-640-7006 please. thanks chuck

Chuck if you want information on W58 there is no better source than Herman at HVDA. I do have an A Type Overdrive transmission out of my 72 that I would be willing to sell if you are still looking for that option.

I will give you a call later today to tell you what I know.

Thanks,

Mike

Hey there Mike,
I am looking for a real good W58 trans to do Herman's 5-speed conversion.
Do you still have this one?

Hey Bill

Yes I still have this one. It is listed on eBay item 172926850814 or if you want I can pull it down and sell it to you for $400 plus actual cost for shipping. There are no bids yet so i can take the ebay listing down.

I will PM you with my phone number so you can call if you want to talk about it.

Thanks,

Mike

Studying Hermann's site I read:"The Toyota box is aluminum that weighs about 35 k and is found in 4 versions (W55, 57,59, 59)."
So, I clearly have are to learn about this conversion. Not sure where the W58 fits in...
