I am trying to learn about the production numbers for TR250s. The numbers on my car are:

Commission Number CD6595L
Engine CC6366E
Body 7152CC ??? - Plate is painted over and hard to read.
Gearbox CD8500
Differential CD4597 ??? - Couldn't read this for sure.

Where can I find out about these numbers?

I think British Motor Heritage may be able to give you some information.

I'd like to know if my numbers match. I don't really want to invest in a Heritage Certificate. Does anyone know how the numbers are supposed to relate (what range they should be in for a car manufactured in the Spring of 1968?

The Heritage Certificate will tell you for sure - Everything else is estimation and interpolation. But the top commission number was somewhere around CD8594. I've read somewhere that the engine and commission number are sort of in the ball-park for each other. That is the case with my TR250. Check Page 3 of the most recent Moss TR250 & TR6 catalog, or in your friendly Bentley's Workshop Manual.
