Greetings, Calvin.

Just a quick note to tell you how much I enjoyed following the building of your "special" TR-6. I could never do that to mine, (don't have the ability nor expertise), but watching your videos of the Autocross and the country cruise I could only smile --- thinking of how much of a blast it must be to drive your car. Playing with, (as you put it), the go-fast pedal, must be a riot . . .

If only . . . (^_^)

Cheers;

John

Here's a video of a race I ran at Hallett near Tulsa in 1982. There are a couple of TR4s, mine and a buddy of mine. There are a couple of shots of Denis Wilson in his ex-Jim Ray TR6. Denis' car was the fastest TR6 on the planet. He was fun to follow around and marvel at how fast the thing changed direction.

Denis nearly won the SCCA National Championship in the early 80's. He had a fantastic race against a fast Porsche 944 or 924, whatever it was driven by Doc Bundy. David Hobbs kept saying that the TR6 shouldn't even be anywhere near the Porsche, but there he was, right there swapping the lead with Bundy. I'd sure like to find that video.

Anyway ,,,we had some track time on Mid American Motorplex raceway at BritishV8 2013 Gathering. Ist time on a track and could unleash the ls1. We were hitting 135mph area and stutting down way before brake numbers on the side of the track. Broke under a 2 min lap time some of us.

Enjoy!!

Getting on down the track pretty good there, huh? Looks like it was a lot of fun.

We were able to take our bikes on the track at Calibogie Race Track a couple of years ago --- most fun I had with my clothes on in a lot of years . . . (^_^)

How about the next best thing to a barn find firing up for the first time. Us goofing around.

This car sat apart for 17 years. (1998 to 2014) We did a quick rebuild of the carbs, and some wiring work to get it to fire up.

Now that the engine fires up, well, there is a lot of work ahead of me.
