I have read that the easiest and quickest way to raise the compression on a TR6 is to bolt on a GT6 head. Can anyone confirm if this is accurate information. And is there any particular GT6 head that works beat.
Thanks
Mike

That'd be quick alright. Also give you around 12 to 1 compression ratio.
Not a good idea.

As Mitch said, kinda. The early GT6 heads had a deck height of 3.3" with flat pistons. Bolting one of those on a TR6 will result in super high compression ratio. The later GT6 heads had a deck height of 3.4" with domed pistons. The 3.4 is the same height as the PI (fuel injected) 2.5L cars so it should work to give a compression ratio of 9.5 to 1.

This link will help. Best to look at casting number when considering a head and then MEASURE deck height..... if a later GT6 head has been shaved you're into hc territory pretty quick.
