I have never seen one of these before, looks like an aftermarket part.
I don't believe it was ever offered as an .

i was wondering because it has exactly the same curvature at the bottom of the fiber- board as the rear trim in front of the tank

-and the speaker is from that time period made in england

-normally aftermarket things are made to suit all cars not just a specific model

Never knew of a rear speaker. Have several of the boxed in ones that are mounted up under dash.

My speaker boxes don't look like yours at all.

If you 'google' ELAC speakers, you'd see they are still in business...Maybe you could ask them for more information or history of your find.

Hi,

I have one of these for my Tr6 as well. I have searched the net and have found a radiomobile instruction manual which shows this as a specific aftermarket speaker made by Radiomobile to fit the Tr6. My Tr6 is a 1974 CR pi model her in AUS. I believe mine may have been dealer fitted. It fits over the diff hump perfectly and looks as if it should have been supplied by the factory although rest assured it is definitely a period accessory and probably very rare as most speakers where fitted above the tranny tunnel on either side. See the pics attached for original documentation found on the internet. Hope this helps

Cheers
