I had to modify the frame, tunnel and exhaust. I had to remove the front muffler and make clearance under the new trans mount. The exhaust is 2", I used a piece of 2 1/2" tube that I "oval-ized" to clears the mount. The exhaust is a bit louder and I may replace the rear "glass-packs" with "turbo" style mufflers.

Swapped Out The T50 Transmission For A W58.

Here are comparison photos of the transmissions. I used a custom made bell housing that mates the W58 transmission to a 4A-GE. The trans are the same length, but the W58 is wider and the shifter is about 1" forward. I had to modify the frame a bit to clear the trans. Also, the clutch slave is mounted wider and I had to widen the tunnel on the right side. This trans shifts smoother and is MUCH quieter! It has closer gear spacing with a taller 1st and 5th gears. Now it is ready for the autocro...

Modified And Installed A Competition Roll Bar.

While I was waiting for various things to come together for the Subi differential, I modified a competition roll bar. It is 1 3/4" tubing all around. I added the horizontal "harness" bar. I changed the mounting location from the floor to the shelf. I shortened the vertical bars as much as possible and added a 1/4" mounting plate on the bottom. The mounting location on the shelf limited where I could bolt through due to the trailing arm interference. I added additional 3/16" bar stock down ...
