Thanks to everyone in the forum who explained that the retaining bracket itself it bolted to
the frame through the back and must be removed in order to extract the wishbone bolt...too
bad i've already cut halfway through it!...live and learn.

I owned one of the first 500 Z cars back in 1970.....bought a second one in 1971. Great car! Put a 5 speed in it, a cam, triple solex, Koni's, Mulholland springs.... and it was an autocross monster!

Miss that car...it was fun and reliable.

My first car was a 75 280z. Rusted out but a lot of fun to drive. I sold it to a friend who almost immediately wrecked it. Off to the graveyard (the car, not the friend). It will always be missed.

I'm happy to own two of the best looking coupes ever made. The Z has great power and
I've cleaned up the interior. I'm taking it for paint and body work in two weeks and should
have it back mid NOV.

The GT6 is getting a much more thorough frame off restoration and is currently in many
pieces, but I'm looking forward to getting back to work on it. I'm also excited to compare
the power, performance and handling between the two. Any thoughts?
