OK, I've officially got too many things going on at the same time. I'm refinishing the rad bottle brackets (2), the bottle's cap and the clutch bracket. It's going OK, but the metal was soooo badly pitted that I'm going to have to do another coat of high-build primer. Delays.
Also, I sanded down the firewall under the clutch bracket, down to metal. During this, I noticed two things. First, the firewall is really badly rusted. It's not rusted through, but it's "scaly" rust. I don't know how to proceed there. Either just plain primer, or POR, or rust encapsulator? Bleah.
Second, I noticed the hole for the clevis pin on the end of the clutch pedal is badly worn. Now I know why the PO had the contraption he did instead of a clevis pin. Bleah. (Not bleah on the PO) Bleah on the fact that either I have to replace the pedal assembly) (!), or somehow repair the hole, but I don't have a welder (or know how to weld, haha). Bleah.
Also also I tried to reconnect the carbs after fabricobbling a new shaft but the new shaft is too long by almost 1/4", so it doesn't want to go back together. Bleah.
So tonight after doing a lot of *stuff*, I don't have a lot to *show* for it.
